I was reading an article the other day that said “Nigeria dos not have any style icons” but i disagree. Although most Nigerian women play safe by following trends but we do have women that stand out style wise. Here are a few:
Nkiru Anumudu I remember when i was really young, in primary school or so, my parents bought newspapers daily and i always awaited the weekend papers because of the style pullouts. This woman always stood out with her very avant-garde clothes, had no idea who she was or what she did but i was always intrigued.Her clothes are almost always straight off the runway couture.
Toke Makinwa Nigeria’s media it girl she oozes that girl-next-door vibe. Her style is very simple and girly, i’ve never seen her on a bad style day.
Jennifer Obayuwana She runs Nigeria’s most prominent luxury retail company. Her style is delightfully jumbled and i love it.
Eku Edewor Young, fresh and non-conformist, she doesn’t follow trends, she makes her own. i love how she dresses perfectly for her frame and she can get away with just about anything because of how small she is.
Ene Lawani She’s just so effortlessly beautiful. The former miss Nigeria’s instagram page leaves many green with style envy.
